Voluntary and community groups are being offered the opportunity to get involved with the Stratford event to celebrate the opening of the Olympic Games.

A big screen will be erected next to the Theatre overlooking the Bancroft Gardens, upon which the Opening Ceremony will be displayed until 10.00pm.  Community sports will take place on the Recreation Ground in the afternoon.

A large number of people are expected to come along and enjoy the festivities.

Groups are being offered stalls to promote and raise awareness of their activities between 10.00am and 10.00pm (although they do not need to man the stalls for all this time).  The stalls are available at a reduced cost of £30 each.

If members feel that they would lke to become involved in the event I will be more than happy to receive ideas on how we might plan a day's activities.
