Not sure how many people knew that Colin had had a stroke. I sent him an email this morning to enquire and send him my best wishes. I received the following reply. I'm sure that he won't mind me sharing it with everyone else at the club.

Update Oct 12th

I am going home. They have given me a date of 24th October, Thursday week.  I am walking quite well with a stick (without a handler now), and attempting to walk a few steps without the stick as the leg is getting stronger.

My speech is 98% so maybe a couple of days and the donkey will lose its hind leg!

I went outside on friday (in the cold wind) with Yvonne and did a car transfer ready for a visit to my stamp club in barford in 6 days.

The occupational therapist is visiting our house on today to see what aids I will need (extra bannister. Half step outside the back door etc).

I can wash, dress, get socks and shoes on, and I am going to buy some stretchy laces for my shoes as they have given me a method of lacing them so I can tie them single handed.

The arm is now developing quite well although the hand is still very weak. Apparently it is always the last to come back, although there is slight movement in the wrist.

Still in good spirits and cant wait for October 24th!

thank you for your good wishes.
