Stratford Chess Club website

Peter Stiff
The new Stratford Chess Club website is now online.

That said, there are still a number of content and development areas that are in progress and these will be added over the summer. Hopefully, before the new Leamington League chess season kicks off there will be a fully developed member’s area which will include fixtures and match results for team captains to update.

Presently, there are number of familiar content areas that are on the public facing pages. These include a fixtures diary, document download page, links page, contact form and club related content pages.

There is a secure administration area for updating the website via a Content Management System (CMS) and as previously mentioned there is a secure member’s area where after logging in member’s contact details can be viewed and updated. This is also where captains will be able to manage team members, fixtures and match results. For those captains who do not want to take on the additional reasonability of updating their team or do not have access to the Internet or a computer. Don’t worry there will be the option for nominating a team player to perform this task by proxy. Failing this the site administrator (currently me) can manage this task.

For now, I’m sure most of you would just like to look around and get some idea what has been put together on your behalf. I would like to add, this is just a starting point and nothing is set-in-stone. If you would like to contribute towards ideas or even add content as a site administrator than I would be more than happy to receive your suggestions and nominations.

By you receiving this email it means that we have your email address included on the site user database. This will then allow you to request a password to access the member’s area on the site. To do this you must go to the forgotten passwords page and enter your email address, your access details will then be sent to you. You can get to the forgotten passwords page via the ‘members’ link within the top menu. Any problems just let me know.

Just like to end by saying a big thanks to Carl Hibbard for sorting out all the DNS stuff and making the transition to the new host a straight forward process.

That’s it for now

Kind Regards

Peter
