Resumption of over the board chess

The Club Committee held a meeting today to discuss the possibility of resuming its regular Tuesday sessions at Foundation House and the wider activities in the Leamington and District Chess League (LDCL).

On these two points, there were many concerns raised and many hurdles identified.

With deference to all the concerns, the committee agreed to make plans for the return to normal club activities if and where possible, with the aim to restart club nights at Foundation House in August and the resumption of League matches in September.

On the latter point, the LDCL is holding an EGM this Friday to discuss the possibility of League matches restarting in September and have asked clubs to indicate likely inclusion and the teams/divisions that they may perhaps enter.

With this in mind, would members please let me know if they would be prepared to join a Stratford Team playing over-the-board chess in September as part of the LDCL?

I appreciate members will have their own concerns on the resumption over the board chess and I would very much like to hear your views.

We are always looking to welcome new players to the club no matter what your ability.
