Chess.com Club night links over Xmas.

Hello everyone.

As the club is not meeting on Tuesday 23rd or 30th of December I have posted two Clubnights on Chess.com on these dates instead of the Thursday events.

So if you fancy a game of chess with members, don't forget to log in on the Stratford Chess page before 7:30pm on these dates.

You will then be able to play 30 minute games for 3 hours against other club members.

If you are not a member of the Chess.com Stratford Chess club, send a membership request via the site before the 23rd and I will approve your request.  Please make sure your Chess.com profile includes your real name so we all know who we are playing.

Season's Greetings

To all the members of Stratford Chess Club. I wish you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

The club will be closed on the 23rd and on the 30th of December and will reopen on the 6th of January. Have a heartwarming holiday, and see you all in 2026.

Venue change - Kenilworth home matches

From January 05, 2026, all Kenilworth home matches in the LDCL will be played at:-

Matches will normally be in the Jephson Room, which is immediately opposite the hotel's main reception desk.

Free car parking is available at the hotel, subject to registration of your vehicle at reception, but please be advised that this is rather limited and the car park is regularly full in the evenings.

Free on-street evening parking within a couple of minutes walk on Forrest Road, Abbey Hill, Southbank Road, Barrowfield Lane, Mercia Avenue and Greville Road. Otherwise, paid parking is available in the nearest town centre car parks, Abbey End or behind Kenilworth Library.

As with most LDCL club venues, home or away players cannot bring in drinks from outside/home for consumption at the Holiday Inn.

LDCL Teams 2025-26

We are entering 4 teams in the league this year, along with a team in the Open KO, U1650 KO and U8750 KO.

The teams composition and division are listed below. Members will be eligible to play, subject to the club membership fees being paid and holding a minimum of a Bronze-level ECF subscription. If, for any reason, you do not wish to enter into a team, please let me know ASAP. Thank you.
